Roundup Lawsuit

If you were exposed to Monsanto’s Roundup® and have been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, you may be entitled to financial compensation.

A Northern California groundskeeper accepted a $78 million settlement from Monsanto after testifying that frequent exposure Roundup was the likely cause of his non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Lawyers for the defendant accused Monsanto of downplaying the health risks of using Roundup, failing to warn consumers about a link to cancer.

Glyphosate, the active ingredient in the herbicide Roundup®, has been one of the most used weed killers (herbicide) in agriculture since 2001. Farmers, groundskeepers and other people who work with or near Roundup® may be at risk for developing non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a form of blood cancer that starts in the lymphatic system. If you or a loved one were exposed to Roundup® and have been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, you may be entitled to compensation. Call the Gold Shield Group now at 877-539-1539.
Monsanto’s Roundup® linked to non-Hodgkin lymphoma

What is Roundup®?

Roundup® is a weed killer (herbicide) created in the 1970s by Monsanto. Since its introduction, it has become wildly popular in the agriculture industry for its ability to fight weeds and other invasive plants. It’s primary ingredient, glyphosate, is considered a probable carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). It is the world’s most popular herbicide, despite being banned in Germany, France and five other European countries. As more foreign countries take action against Monsanto, lawsuits are now being filed in the United States.

Who’s at risk?

Anyone who has been exposed to Roundup® may be at risk for non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The IARC reported that glyphosate (the main ingredient in Roundup®) is “probably carcinogenic to humans.” A meta-analysis of existing studies done by researchers at the University of Washington concluded that people exposed to GBHs (glyphosate-based herbicides) like Roundup raise their risk of cancer by 41%. One of the study’s co-authors, Rachel Shaffer, has said, "This research provides the most up-to-date analysis of glyphosate and its link with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, incorporating a 2018 study of more than 54,000 people who work as licensed pesticide applicators."

In spite of this, Monsanto’s Roundup® herbicide is still being used by thousands of farmers, crop dusters and other professionals in the agriculture and landscaping business. In addition, Monsanto claims “glyphosate poses no unreasonable risk to people, the environment, or pets when used as directed on the label”, in direct contradiction to the findings of the IARC.
