Possible Listeria Contamination in IQF Cut Green Beans

IQF (Individual Quick Frozen) cut green beans are being recalled after a routine sample revealed Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, and people with vulnerable immune systems. Pregnant women should also avoid any possible exposure to Listeria as it could result in a miscarriage or stillbirth.

JML Ingredients, Inc. delivered the beans to companies in Massachusetts, New York, and Pennsylvania; all deliveries of the IQF green beans have ceased.

Currently no illnesses or fatalities have been reported and an investigation is underway. For more information, visit the FDA web site.
